What is domain authority?
Domain authority is a process to measure the power of a domain name and is one of many search engine ranking factors. Domain authority is based on three factors: Age, Popularity, and Size.
Domain Authority (DA) is a website metric developed by Moz. It is one of the most significant numbers known to SEOs. They rate a website on a scale of 1-100, (100 being the best and 1 being the worst). The greater your DA, the more likely you are to have strong traffic and high rank. Moz’s Domain Authority is a way to gauge how your website would perform competitively when pitted against other websites in your niche.
Amongst all the SEO factors, the key elements which make up the DA are – The website’s Age, Popularity, Backlinks, the number of links pointing to the site and the number of linking root domains – mainly the number of other sites linking to your site! (See MozTrust, MozRank, etc.)
How to check domain authority?
There was very few domain authority checkers are available online today which you can use to check your website’s DA. The first is the official Moz open site explorer where you type in your domain or sub-domain address, and it will show you the latest DA score.(MORE INFO HERE)
If you are using the Google Chrome or Firefox Internet browser, you can use MozBar extension to check the domain authority and page authority of any web page.

What is Page Authority?
Page Authority is a metric, developed by SEO Moz, to predict the ability for a particular page to rank in search engines. Page authority uses a 0 to 100 logarithmic scale. A high Page Authority score means your page has the potential to rank well in search engine results. One of the greatest ways to check your site’s progress is by knowing your page authority.
Page Authority is based on data from the Mozscape web index and includes link counts, MozRank, MozTrust, and dozens of other factors. Like Domain Authority, it uses a machine learning model to identify the algorithm that best correlates with rankings across the thousands of SERPs that we predict against, then produces Page Authority scores using that specific calculation.
How to check Page Authority?
Page Authority metrics are incorporated into many of SEO and online marketing platforms across the web.
In the Moz ecosystem, you can measure Domain Authority using Open Site Explorer, MozBar, Moz’s free SEO toolbar, or in the SERP Analysis section of Keyword Explorer. Authority metrics are also incorporated into all Moz Pro campaigns, as well as the Mozscape API.

You have to be really patient when checking Moz stats/metrics. It takes a few months for Moz to recalculate. (Remember Moz has to crawl the entire internet and recalculate, it doesn’t happen immediately!) What matters most is that Google actually picks up the links.
