Apple released the stable build of iOS 15 to the public a few days ago and a lot of you might be experiencing the new OS for the first time and wondering how things work. If you’re one of those who are looking to set up or change the alarms on your iPhone in the latest version, then this post should help you do just that.

How to Change your Sleep/Wake Up Alarm on iOS 15

One of the major things that Apple has announced with iOS 15 is Focus – a slew of routines designed to prevent distractions from affecting you while you’re following your day’s chores. One of the preset routines available via Focus is Sleep schedule that not only lets you set an alarm inside the Clock app but also helps you prepare for your sleep and shows relevant information when you wake up. If you had previously created a Sleep schedule on your Apple devices, you will be able to change it by opening the Clock app, selecting the ‘Alarm’ tab at the bottom, and then tapping on the ‘Change’ button under ‘Sleep | Wake up’.

Clock will now prompt you that the Sleep schedule is now inside the Health app. On this screen, tap on ‘Set Up in Health’.

You will now be taken to the welcome screen on the Sleep app. To get started with the setup process, tap on ‘Next’. On the next screen, you will be asked to set a sleep goal, usually sometime around 8 hours for most of us. Once done, tap on ‘Next’.

On the next screen, you should see the sleep goal you selected applied by default. The sleep goal should be visible as a partial ring outside the circular clock to a preset time for sleep under the ‘Bedtime and Wake Up’ section. You can, however, change your Bedtime or Wake Up times to your preferred time of the night.

You can make further changes to your schedule like selecting the days they stay enabled, ringtones, volume, vibration, and snooze. Once your schedule is ready, you should be able to see all the details about your configuration on the next screen.

After that, you can follow the on-screen instructions to turn the Sleep screen, set up Wind Down mode, and Shortcuts. Once they’re all ready, you should see them appear inside the ‘Features That Are On’ section.

How to Change “Other” Alarms on iOS 15

Besides your Sleep schedule, the Clock app on iOS lets you create and change other alarms that you may use in case you like to stick to the conventional way of setting up alarms on your iPhone or you just want to set more than one alarm for your daily routine.

You can change a pre-existing alarm on your iPhone by first opening the Clock app, selecting the ‘Alarm’ tab at the bottom, and then tapping on the alarm that you want to change under the ‘Other’ section. If there’s no alarm you’ve previously created, tap on the ‘+’ icon at the top right corner of your screen.

The Edit Alarm screen should now appear. Here, change the time you want to set for your updated alarm by scrolling through the hour and minute columns and then selecting AM/PM.

Once that’s done, you can move over to other alarm controls.

If you want the new alarm to ring at the same time for another day(s) of the week, then you can tap on the Repeat option.

That’s all you need to know about changing alarms on iOS 15.
