For example, in the picture of my motherboard above, you can see that I have a chipset motherboard Z370 (F is part of the ASUS model number for that motherboard). If you can find a four-digit cable of similar numbers you will have found the motherboard chipset and your model number.

Method 3: How to Check the Motherboard Model in Windows with ‘System Information’

In some cases you can find your motherboard model in Windows by checking the System Information menu. Here it is how to do so:

1. In the Windows search bar, click on ‘System Information’
2. Scroll down on the System Summary tab (open on the left side of the window) until you see ‘Motherboard Manufacturer’, or ‘BaseBoard Manufacturer’.
3. The information next to ‘Motherboard / BaseBoard Manufacturer’, ‘Motherboard / BaseBoard Model’, and ‘Motherboard / BaseBoard Name’, should give you the information you need.

While this method may seem like the easiest way to check what motherboard you have, it may be a little hit or miss. At the very least, you will be able to find the manufacturer of your motherboard. However, you may not be able to find the exact model number of your motherboard using this method.

As you can see in the pictures above, appears System Info that manufactures my motherboard, but it does not tell me the exact model number.

However, in this image, the System Information shows the model number of the motherboard. So, while it may not be fully guaranteed, check your motherboard model in Windows will work if you have a new motherboard.
