Microsoft Outlook has a tool called Export Manager and Import that you can use to export your contacts to a separate CSV file. You can then import this file into the Contacts application on your MacBook.

Sharing your Contacts folder

This option allows you to share your entire Contacts folder for other users to view.

  • Open Outlook from your desktop or laptop computer.
  • Find and tap the person icon in the lower left corner.
  • Find the Sharing box in the Pane Navigation at the top of your screen and click the Share Contacts icon.

A new email message window will open. Enter the person’s email address in which you want to share your contacts folder. You will see two options listed below for email message information:

  • Allow recipients to view your Contacts folder – for this email recipient to view your Contacts folder.
  • Request permission to view Recipients Contacts folder – ask permission to view Recipients Contacts folder.
  • As long as you are sharing your Contacts folder, the option is the default to Allow recipients to view your Contacts folder. Click Send when finished.
  • The recipient will receive an email with an attachment to open your Contacts folder. The contacts will be published under the Shared Contacts folder.

Contact List Sharing or Single Contact

This option allows you to share a contact or a contact list you created.

  • Open Outlook from your desktop or laptop computer.
  • Find and tap the person icon in the lower left corner.
  • Enter the contact or contact list you want to share.
  • Click the Contact icon Next in the Sharing box in the Pane Navigation at the top of your screen until a drop down menu appears. Click As Outlook Contact.
  • A new email message will open. Enter recipient information and a short message. You will see a contact or a contact list attached to the email. When finished, click Send.
  • The recipient will receive the message with a related contact or contact list directing them to record or open the attachment. Once you record, the contact or contact list will appear in the Contacts Shared folder.
