- Changing an image in Photoshop is easy enough, but what happens when you need to resize 10, 50, or even 100 images? You can go through the process one by one, but this will save you valuable time that could otherwise be spent on another creative activity.
- In this tutorial, learn how to resize multiple photos at once by creating custom Action Photoshop and using Auto> Batch function.
- If you are new to Photoshop and need an even faster way to do this, consider downloading one of the many great GraphicRiver Practices available from GraphicRiver.
How to Set Up Relevant folders
- In this tutorial we will use Auto> Batch function, which allows us to resize multiple images in any given folder. So it is important to make sure you start with the appropriate folders, one for the original images and the second as final travel as soon as they have been repaired.
- First, create two New Folders on your computer. Mention the first one Original Pictures, and the second New Art.
- Make sure all the photos you want to reproduce are in the main folder. Remember that this step is necessary.
- Now you will be able to direct Photoshop to a specific folder to resize all the images at the end of the trip before saving them to the second folder. Now let’s go to creating Action Photoshop for this project.
How to Create New Action Set
- This Photoshop application is a quick and easy way to edit all your pictures in seconds. And as a trainer, I find this useful even when I need a lot of pictures for something or tutorial, so I will set up this tip for the actual scenario.
- After you create your folders, open them up Adobe Photoshop and log in to your Actions panel by going to Windows> Actions.
- Now go to File> Open to open one of the images from your original folder into Photoshop. Here I will use a photo of Camper Treasure from Pixabay. Its original size is 960 x 635 pixels.
- On the Action panel, click Folders button to create a New Plan for your practice. Name the Repair program, and click OK.
How to Create a Photoshop Action Edition
- With the selected folder, click on Document button To Create a New Service. As long as I need this function to help create images in perfect size for Envato Tuts + posts, I will name this project Tuts + Message Pictures. But feel free to name your action according to the relevant task. When finished, hit Record to start recording your work.
- With your action recorded now, go to Image> Size and adjust the size or height to your favorites. All posts are smaller than 850 pixels wide, so I would change the size to that size.
- It has not been done yet! Once your image has been scaled, it’s time to Save. Go to File> Save As, browse for the Revised Images folder. Once you find the folder, make sure you do not change the image name before hitting Save. Then select the desired image quality for these jpeg. Here I will keep the file size is small with a Medium Quality of 6.
- The final step for this process is very important. With the recording function open, go to File> Close or hold Control-W to delete from Photoshop file. Make sure this is the last step of the action before you hit the Stop button on the Action panel.
- If you do not include this step, Photoshop will move all your pictures into a folder without closing any of them. And depending on the amount you have, this may cause your computer to stop or crash.
How to Use the Automatic Option
- Now you can use the recently created action to resize multiple images within a folder. To do this, go to File> Auto> Batch.
- Under Batch settings, select the Action Plan that you created as well as the specific Action you want to Activate.
- Then Select the folder containing the images you want to configure before clicking OK. Due to the original function of saving your images to the scaled Images folder, all your new images will automatically appear there.
