Guide: How to Disable or Change the Mail Signature on Windows 10

The Mail application in Windows 10 is a good email client that lets you add email accounts in addition to your Microsoft. However, you will notice that any emails compiled in the Mail application come with a default signature.

Microsoft thinks it wants to let everyone know that you are using their email system by including the “Send from Mail for Windows 10” signature in all your emails, including non-Microsoft accounts. It is easy to update or remove the signature for each account if you want to use custom signature or not at all.

Open the Mail application and click the cog settings icon at the bottom of the window. A program panel will pop up on the right side of the application. Around the center of the panel is the Signature option. Click that to enter the signature settings.

Mail sets these settings on a single account. If you want your changes to affect all accounts in the Mail application check Apply to all accounts. If you do not want to use the signature at all, delete the tag labeled Use email signature.

Alternatively, you can click on the text box below the slider, clear the content, and enter your own signature. Although you can only see one line in the settings panel, you can still add several lines to your signature. The one I use most often, for example, has three lines: my name, location, and contact information. The Mail application does not support rich text signatures such as embedded links to your website or Twitter account.

Once you have approved your signature, enter anywhere else in the mail application to lock. Your signature has now changed. If you want to test it, click New Mail to start a new message and see what the signature looks like.
