You can now play Fortnite Mobile game at 90 Hz mode on these phones

If you’re playing Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, or your mobile phone, you’re probably used to playing at 60 Hz, but you’ll soon be able to experience it at 90 Hz – if you buy the right phone. This news is due to the fact that OnePlus, a manufacturer of Android phones, has announced a partnership with Epic Games – the developers of Fortnite. With OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, you can now play both Fortnite at 90 Hz, giving you a smoother refresh rate.

A refresh rate of 90 Hz means that the image on your phone is updated 90 times per second above the “standard” of 60 Hz on most smartphones, and movement and movement feel much smoother. People who play Fortnite on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro that have a 90 Hz or 120 Hz screen will find that the game feels smoother.

It’s worth noting that while this is the highest refresh rate that Fortnite has seen on smartphones (and surpasses on consoles), the iPad Pro can actually play the game at 120 Hz. This means that OnePlus 8 phones don’t offer the best refresh rate for Fortnite for every handheld device. It is not clear whether other smartphones will operate Fortnite at 90 Hz in the future.

Many devices are equipped with 90 Hz screens, so the game may one day play at this update rate on older OnePlus phones like the 7T and 7T Pro, or on phones from other companies like the Samsung Galaxy S20 or Xiaomi Mi 10 and Google Pixel 4.

The OnePlus 8 series is unlikely to be the exclusive 90 Hz Fortnite phones forever. It’s a coveted feature that many smartphone users want to try, but at the moment OnePlus has the upper hand by offering it exclusively.
